Simple tips to keep your legs and feet healthy and feeling good whilst you travel

Holiday time has arrived at last! Whether it’s a hurly-burly city break, packing a rucksack to climb a mountain, taking a cruise, or replenishing your tank on a white, sandy palm beach, the main thing is: relax and escape from the daily grind!

But before you step out onto that sandy beach, we want to remind you of the importance of remembering to follow these simple steps to help keep your legs and feet healthy during your holiday.

If you have been prescribed, advised, or wear compression therapy, it is essential you continue to wear your compression! Many people associate wearing compression socks or stockings in the summer with feeling hot and sweaty. However, continuing to wear your compression during summer is one of the most important things that you can do.

Compression socks come with a number of benefits for frequent flyers that range from serious medical prevention to cosmetic and comfort factors. Compression socks are considered to be a valuable travel tool for anyone hoping to make long flights a more comfortable experience.

Why you should always travel with compression socks.

Help deter potential blood clots

One of the most well-known benefits of compression socks is how they can help to prevent blood clots, a worry for many when travelling long distances. They work to stimulate circulation in the lower limb, which is especially useful during long flights or road trips when you’re sitting for prolonged periods.

Fight leg fatigue

After a long journey, it’s common for your legs to take some time to get used to activity. Along with promoting circulation in your legs, compression socks also work to help fight the feeling of fatigue in your legs.

Prevent swelling

Sitting for prolonged periods is common when on your travels, which, due to gravity, causes fluid retention in your legs below the knee and can easily be prevented with the right compression socks.
